ABOUT WIKE

 

Wike Schippers is a Dutch composer, songwriter and singer based in Cork. She has been captivating Cork audiences with her enchanting music, drawing inspiration from folk, film scores and musical theatre. Her introspective lyrics and dreamy melodies tell stories of love and melancholy. She completed her Bachelor's in Songwriting at Codarts in Rotterdam and moved to Cork to get her Master's in Music Composition at Cork School of Music, which she completed in October 2023 with first class honours.

 

As a singer-songwriter, she released the album “Spring” (2020) and single "Off the Hook" (2022). Additionally, Wike has made notable contributions as a composer, lending her compositional skills to theatre and film projects such as CSM plays "The Tempest" (2022) and "Fake News” (2023) and "The House of Bernarda Alba" (2024) as well as short films like "Homofónia" (2023), which is currently sweeping Irish film festivals, and Cyclone Rep's educational short film "Bullying Prevention Circle" (2023) as well as "The Call Of" (2023, co-creator Kyle English), her collaborative graduating project.
